Pasture raised BEEF

taste the difference

We are proud to announce that we have recently begun raising quality pasture beef on our newly purchased farm in Central Kentucky. Our small herd of Angus, Hereford, and Angus/Hereford cross steers are purchased from the best local, reputable breeders. With an average of 1 head per acre, our cattle have ample space for grazing and dry forage when needed providing a low stress, happy life.

BENEFITS OF BUYING BEEF SHARES

Purchasing a share of beef directly from our farm comes with many benefits. The steers spend their life in a natural, peaceful environment, with unlimited grazing access to an abundant pasture. Unlike the vast majority of super market beef, our share process is done at our farm and without the need to ship to multiple locations. This greatly decreases outside exposure, which takes away the risk of stress and possible illness. Knowing where our beef is coming from and how it is raised offers a deeper connection to our protein source and a better appreciation as well.

HOW IT WORKS

Customers can select between 1/4, 1/2, and whole shares of beef. Pricing is based on hanging weight (weight of the carcass after slaughter, removal of hide, organs, and head), which typically ends up being 60% of the weight when alive. What you take home after cutting pieces into portions ends up being 55% of the hanging weight.

All shares include cuts from both front and hind quarters, and as a result, 1/4 of shares will be limited in customizing cuts.

Cost per share: $5.50/lb of hanging weight

*This includes all processing fees and convenient pick up from Argos Farm.

Below is the cut sheet. You may either submit this via email, or call us to walk through it together.
